Why Refari Widgets Run on a Lovable Site
Lovable turns a plain-English brief into a working web app with code you can read. New projects use TanStack Start and older ones React with Vite, and either way the published site is made of ordinary web pages, on a lovable.app address or your own domain.
A Refari widget is plain JavaScript: an empty container and the Refari scripts that fill it. Placed in your Lovable code, it runs in the page itself, which is all a widget needs to show your jobs, open each role and take applications.
No plugin, app or Lovable add-on to install
The same code works on lovable.app and on your own domain
Your jobs stay in Refari and your ATS, never in the Lovable project
Job board, job alerts, referrals and registration forms all install the same way
Which Lovable Plan a Careers Page Needs
Every Lovable plan can publish to a lovable.app address, sync its code to GitHub, GitLab or Bitbucket and take instructions in the chat, so a Refari job board can go onto a Free project. The paid plans, Pro from $25 a month and Business from $50, add the parts a careers page usually wants next.
Free: publish on lovable.app and add the code through the chat, or edit it in your repository through Git sync; the Code tab is read-only, and build credits are capped at 5 a day and 30 a month
Pro and up: edit the careers page yourself in the Code tab, and download the codebase as a zip
Your own domain: paid plans only, from Settings, Domains in the project, and the project must be published
The Lovable badge: paid plans can hide it from the project’s publishing settings
How to Add Refari to a Lovable Site
Lovable has no embed element and no site-wide code box, so the code goes into the project itself. On any plan you can ask the chat to place it; on a paid plan you can also place it yourself in the Code tab, where every save becomes a version.
1
Copy the Job Board Code
In your Refari dashboard, open Widgets, choose the job board, set its colours and layout, then click COPY ALL. You need to be a Refari Admin or Manager to see Widgets.
2
Give It to Lovable’s Chat
Paste the prompt below into your project chat, with the copied code where it says. The chat works on every plan, including Free, where the Code tab is read-only.
3
Or Place It Yourself
On a paid plan, open the Code tab: the container goes in your careers page component exactly as copied, the loader is added once for the app, and the configuration runs in a useEffect each time that component mounts, after the loader has loaded.
4
Publish Your Changes
Lovable’s preview can differ from what visitors see, so publish, then open your careers page on its lovable.app address or your own domain.
5
Set Your Base URL
In Refari, under Settings > Job Board Settings, set the Base URL to your careers page, so job links in alerts and emails open on your Lovable site.
6
Check the Forms
Open a registration or application form on the published page. If the reCAPTCHA box loads without an error, the code is in the page and every widget will behave.
Example prompt for Lovable’s chat
Add the Refari job board to our /careers page using the embed code below.
[paste the COPY ALL code from Refari here]
The code is an empty container div followed by the Refari scripts, in their original order. Please:
- Render the container div in the careers page component exactly as pasted, keeping its id, full width and with no fixed height.
- Load the Refari loader script once for the whole app. Do not add it a second time.
- Run the Refari configuration only after the loader has loaded, in a useEffect that runs each time the careers page mounts.
- Do not write raw script tags into JSX or pass them through dangerouslySetInnerHTML.
- Never put any of the code inside an iframe or an embed element.
- Keep the page address’s query string and the part after # exactly as they arrive, so links to a single job open it.
Replace the line in square brackets with your own code from COPY ALL, which already carries your API key.
What to Check After You Publish
Visitors only ever see the published snapshot of a Lovable project, so run these checks on the live address, ideally in a private window, each time you publish a change to the careers page.
The board lists your live jobs, with search and filters working
A job opens when clicked, and its address copied into a new tab opens the same job
A job link in a Refari job alert email opens that job on your Lovable site
Moving to another page and back still shows the board
The registration form’s reCAPTCHA loads with no “Invalid domain” message
A test application arrives in your ATS
The site is Public, so a signed-out visitor sees the page
Six Things to Watch Out For on Lovable
Most problems with a widget on a Lovable site come from where the code ended up, not from the code itself. These are the ones to check first.
Script Tags Written Into JSX
If the whole block is pasted into a React component as markup, or through dangerouslySetInnerHTML, the Refari scripts do not run reliably, and the container can stay empty.
Ask Lovable to load the loader once and run the configuration in a useEffect.
Judging It by the Preview
Lovable’s editor preview can differ from the published site, and an empty board there proves nothing.
Publish your changes and check the live careers page.
Configuration That Runs Once
Lovable sites change pages without a full reload, so code that runs only when the app first opens does not run again when a visitor comes back to the careers page.
Run the configuration each time the careers page mounts, after the loader has loaded.
“Invalid Domain” on Forms
This reCAPTCHA message means the code is running inside a frame, which has no web address of its own. Job links and filters fail for the same reason.
Ask Lovable to move the code out of any iframe or embed element and into the page.
A Site Set to Invite Only
Lovable lets you publish a site as Public or Invite only. Candidates cannot see an invite-only careers page.
In the Publish dialog, set Who can view your site? to Public, then click Publish changes.
Plan Limits
On Lovable’s Free plan the Code tab is read-only and a custom domain is not available.
Use the chat or edit through Git sync, or move to a paid plan for the Code tab and your own domain.
Lovable With Your ATS
The embed code you give Lovable is the same whichever ATS you use. What differs is what travels between that ATS and Refari, and the one thing worth checking on a Lovable site.
JobAdder
What flows
Refari’s own two-way integration: JobAdder webhooks put new ads on your Lovable board and take expired ones off straight away, and edits follow within a few hours. Applications and registrations go into JobAdder, referrals travel both ways, candidate stages come back, and screener answers reach JobAdder fields once mapped under Tools > Question Mapping.
Watch for on Lovable
Alert links follow the Base URL in Refari. If you later move the careers page from lovable.app to your own domain, update the Base URL the same day.
Through the Refari Integrator, Loxo webhooks bring published, active jobs to your Lovable board within minutes. Applications, registrations and referrals go into Loxo, Refari reads your Loxo workflow stages back, and screener answers stay in Refari.
Watch for on Lovable
Never paste your Loxo API key into the Lovable chat, where it could end up in your site’s code. It belongs only in Refari’s connection page; the code Lovable gets holds no Loxo credential.
Refari checks Atlas about every 10 minutes for projects with Public Job Advert switched on, with a full check every six hours. Applications, registrations and referrals go back to Atlas, and project stages come back for referral tracking and TopRec review requests on placement.
Watch for on Lovable
Allow 10 to 12 minutes after saving a project, then refresh the published Lovable page, not the editor preview, before treating a job as missing.
Seven20 built this integration on Refari’s API for its Salesforce-based recruitment CRM, and Seven20 decides when each job is sent. Applications and registrations go to Seven20; referrals stay in Refari, and candidate stages are not sent back.
Watch for on Lovable
A Seven20 job missing from your Lovable board needs no republish: check it carries a title, category, work type, location, recruiter and closing date, because Refari turns away a job without all six.
RecruitWizard built this integration: the jobs you advertise in RecruitWizard come into Refari, and applications, registrations and referrals made on your Lovable site go to RecruitWizard. Candidate stages are not sent back.
Watch for on Lovable
If you add a registration form, give it its own Lovable route, such as /register, with its own container, and run its configuration when that page mounts, using the same single loader.
Answers to the questions recruitment teams ask before they add a Refari job board to a site built with Lovable.
Does Refari work with websites built in Lovable?
Yes. Refari widgets are plain JavaScript, and Lovable publishes ordinary web pages, so once the embed code is in your careers page it runs in the page itself and shows your live jobs.
Where do I paste the Refari code in Lovable?
In your project’s code: ask the chat to place it, or edit the careers page in the Code tab on a paid plan. Lovable has no embed element or site-wide code setting.
Can I add the job board on Lovable’s Free plan?
Yes, through the chat, which works on every plan. On Free the Code tab is read-only, so hand edits go through Git sync, and your own domain needs a paid plan.
Why does the job board look empty in the Lovable editor?
Because Lovable’s editor preview can differ from the published site. Publish your changes, then check the board on your lovable.app address or your own domain.
Do links to a single job open on a Lovable site?
They should, but test it on the published site, because Lovable does not document how its router treats query strings or the part of an address after #. Open a job on your board and copy its address into a new tab, then click a job link in a Refari job alert email. If both open the job, your links work.
Why did the job board disappear when I came back to the careers page?
Because the configuration ran only once. Lovable sites change pages without reloading, so ask Lovable to run the Refari configuration each time the careers page component mounts, after the loader has loaded.
Will my jobs appear in Google for Jobs from my Lovable site?
Not from the widget. Google for Jobs needs a page for each job, and a job board widget shows jobs inside your careers page. Google for Jobs comes with a website Refari builds, where every job has its own page.
Which ATS can I connect to a Lovable site through Refari?
JobAdder, Loxo, Atlas, Seven20 and RecruitWizard. Your jobs come from the ATS through Refari, and applications made on your Lovable site go back to it.
Can the careers page sit on my own domain instead of lovable.app?
Yes, on a paid Lovable plan. Connect the domain under Settings, Domains in your project, publish, then point the Base URL in Refari at the careers page on that domain so job alert links open there.
Can I move my Lovable site to other hosting and keep the job board?
Yes. Lovable syncs your code to GitHub, GitLab or Bitbucket, and the Refari embed code is not tied to one website. Keep the careers page at the same address if you can, and update your Base URL if it changes.
Want Google for Jobs? That Comes With Refari Websites 2.0
Lovable is a quick way to build your own site, and Refari widgets give it a full job board. What a widget cannot do is give each job a page of its own, which is what Google for Jobs reads, and Lovable’s SEO guide warns that on older React and Vite projects, content which loads late can be missed. If Google for Jobs matters to you, Refari Websites 2.0 is the managed option: Refari builds and hosts the site, with every job on its own page.
